Description
As a prank your friend modified the text they were supposed to give to you. Figure out a way to solve the substituted text.
PS! You also find a stiky note4 where was written the following numbers *32 54 80 46 155*
100pts
Question
Figure out how it was done and capture the flag.
Solution
When you open a webpage, you are greeted by a page with a very large number of smileys and a few letters such as M, C and U. I first saved that webpage so that I can edit it better with a more powerful editor.
I replaced all the emoticons with letters. Since some of the characters were already given I had to make sure that none of the smileys were replaced by previous characters. Next, I put the text into the frequency analysis program and started to change the characters, trying to see if the text would be somehow clearer. After a while of rotating the letters I got the right ones replaced and the text became readable.
From the text itself I still have to find the right answer to the task and for this I used the book cipher decoding with the numbers given in the task.
After that I got the correct answer to the task.
